Here are some book references for IIT JAM Chemistry preparation.

  • Organic Chemistry - Clayden, Morrison Boyd
  • Inorganic Chemistry - J.D. Lee.
  • Physical Chemistry - Puri Sharma Phatania

Cover the syllabus of PG courses as well. For analytical, you can refer to the Principles of Instrumental Analysis. You don’t need to buy every book, you can get the PDF versions.

If you are from Delhi or residing near NCR's location, then carrier endeavor notes will be best. If you cannot afford to buy these notes, study your Chemistry books of Class 11th, 12th and B.Sc. thoroughly. Also, download the previous year’s question papers.

Some of the best books for IIT JAM Chemistry are listed below.

Physical Chemistry:

  • Physical Chemistry - Peter W. Atkins
  • Chemical Kinetics - Keith J. Laidler

Inorganic Chemistry:

  • Concise Inorganic Chemistry & Main Group Elements (s and p blocks) - J.D. Lee
  • Inorganic Chemistry - James E. Huheey

Organic Chemistry:

  • Stereochemistry Conformation and Mechanism - P.S. Kalsi
  • Clayden, Greeves, Warner, and Wothers, & Carey & Sundberg

Make sure you have enough time in hand for preparations and try to come in 300. This way you will have more options for admission.
