Each year, ISB selects a cohort of approximately 900 students from a pool of applicants. The class is composed of a diverse group of individuals with varying backgrounds and experiences. It is important for an applicant to understand the demographic makeup of the cohort and the range of GMAT scores and the work experience of admitted students.

Approximately 38% of the students admitted to ISB are women, and the range of GMAT scores for admitted students is between 610 and 780. For the GMAT mid 80% range, the mean score is 713 and the median score is 710. Additionally, in the class of 2022, 54 students have 8 or more years of work experience, 228 students have between 5 to 8 years of work experience, 394 students possess 3 to 5 years of work experience and 254 students have up to 3 years of work experience.

To apply to ISB, you must meet certain prerequisites, including a minimum of 24 months of work experience, a valid GMAT or GRE score, and a bachelor's degree. The application process involves submitting official scores, completing an online form detailing your academics, work experience, awards and activities, and hobbies, providing contact information for one recommender, and submitting two essays.

Based on the information provided in the online application, applicants are selected for an interview. The selection procedure at ISB evaluates the applicant's academic scores, GMAT or GRE, essays, reference letters, and quality of work experience to decide the admission status. Since it is a profile-based admission, the best among equals is then selected. The exact weightage on any of the above criteria is not disclosed by the school, so any assumptions cannot be made. However, it is important to present a strong case on each of these criteria in order to increase your chances of admission.

ISB has two branches, one in Hyderabad and another in Mohali. The schools, alumni, and students believe in 1 school 2 campus theory. The placements are conducted for both campuses at the same time of the year. The students don’t reveal campuses to companies, neither are companies allowed to ask the campus details.

For getting selected in ISB Hyderabad, you require a bachelor’s degree and a GMAT score to apply to ISB. You need a work experience criterion of a minimum of 2 years to apply for admission to this school. But in case you have less than 2 years, you can go for other options like Early Entry Option (EEO) and Young Leaders Programme (YLP).

  • The admissions take place in two cycles. The deadline for the first round is around Oct 15 and the results are announced in December while the second round lasts till Jan 15 and the results are announced in March. The classes for this program begin in mid-April.
  • The applications are accepted through an online portal with details like an academic record, work experience responsibilities and achievements, extra-curricular achievements, and most importantly, 2 essays, 3 in case you are a re-applicant. You need a recommendation as well.

The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their score, essays, and profile. You will be called for the interviews. Once the interview is cleared, you will be given your admission forms.

Try to get in touch with students/ alumni to get more information about the same. If this isn’t feasible, you could just go to the official website for ISB, login to the portal, and have a look at all the requirements.
