Why are IIIT Hyderabad placements so poor?

One of my friends works in a leading MNC and told me that his company only recruits from IIIT Hyderabad because of its extremely talented crowd. During my internship at a Fortune company’s research lab, I observed that they recruited students only from old IITs and top IIITs. Many IIIT Hyderabad students receive big offers from US-based companies.

Do you still believe IIIT Hyderabad has poor placemats after reading the above instances? If yes, then go through the following placement stats:

It's true that IIT Hyderabad being a CS oriented institute has good placement records in these branches alone. Other fields have poor placements and many Master's students suffer as a result. But to claim IIIT Hyderabad has poor placements as a whole would be misleading indeed.

It’s not true that IIIT Hyderabad has poor placements. It is considered among the top IIITs in India and is known for its excellent placements.

IIIT Hyderabad Placements:

During the 2021 placement drive, the highest CTC received by the students was INR 56 LPA. CSE students received the highest CTC.
For the academic year 2020, the highest CTC offered was INR 85 LPA.
Out of the 321 students who registered for the placement drive, a total of 309 students got placement offers.
Some of the major recruiters that frequent the placement drive are Adobe, Google, Code Nation, Uber, Samsung, etc.

Overall, the placement scenario at IIIT Hydrabad is quite impressive.

Students work hard every year to split up GSOCs and ICPCs, get offers for internships in the top laboratories around the world, including Google, Microsoft, and Facebook London. They are placed in top MNCs with average CTCs of approximately 22-23 LPA. It has the highest average CTCs and 100% CSE and ECE placements with the lowest 11 LPA package.

The salary includes base pay, bonus, and all other benefits, which can be used for 3 or 4 years, depending upon the performance, mediation, insurance, etc.

Now, no college (included in their placement statistics) has been included. So iitians receive 1cr + packages which are not included in the statistics for college investment.
