No, IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta CVs aren’t highly exaggerated. The right terms will be well-structured and strategically marketed

As mentioned, the CV verification process is rigorous and the institute only accepts poofs in certain specific formats from authorized people or organizations. So, there is no way anyone can exaggerate any facts. Students of these institutes mention their work and achievements in a way that catches the eye of the recruiters. That is the only difference.

First, you need to understand the actual procedure of CV verification. The following three basic points regarding CV verification are listed.

  • Students frame their CVs according to the guideline given by the placement committee and inputs from seniors about highlighting numbers, use of action verbs, etc.
  • The points mentioned in the CV are verified by institutional authorities, including professors and company managers.
  • The representative from Placecom confirms that the CV points mentioned in the CV are verified and successfully validates the verifier authority and identity.

The above processes are followed in most of the renowned B schools in India and just in IIM Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.

Useful Tips:

  • The two common ways to make CV points eye-catching are the use of action verbs and numbers. The action verbs are actually needed to signify the roles along with their contribution to the positive outcomes with the CV points. Besides, numbers assist in quantifying the outcomes.
  • Action verbs can be flexible for CV points but numbers have certain limitations. However, numbers are accompanied by a unit, which can be changed. For example, if you brought about a cost reduction of Rs 5 per vehicle and 2,000 vehicles are manufactured each month, writing 1.2 lakhs per annum is acceptable.

CV making is a process of presentation. So, if you get the hang of it, you won’t require any resort to exaggeration. This is a basic concept, and students from reputed educational institutes understand this very well.
