Due to this year’s pandemic situation, the interview was held online which was a new experience. One of my friends appeared in these online interviews and shared his experience of the entire process of taking over a video conferencing platform. The network issues he faced, the patiently waiting for the interview to start, and his overall nervousness surrounding it.

The interview started after a delay at the institute's end. The interview lasted for around 20 minutes and they asked questions regarding the field of his study. Lastly, it was not much different from an offline interview, excluding some network mishaps, which created a delay at both ends.

The general overview regarding the interview can be understood by the description below:

The number of panelists may vary between 2-3. The time limit ranges around 20-30 minutes.
The interview starts with an introductory representation of the candidate in order to know about the general specifications.
The major focus can be on testing your hold on the graduation subjects and a particular stream, For eg: Electronics.
Don’t get mistaken that you will ask questions only related to your stream. An electronic student can be asked about biology.
Once the panelists get a vibe that you like a topic, they will try to avoid that topic and ask totally different concepts.
Be ready to face current affairs and have a viewpoint regarding certain hot issues.
A small extempore can also be initiated but it will not be direct easy topics. Topics will be related to your domain but will definitely add a situation that you need to justify on your grounds.

The fresher candidates need to be quite vigilant during the interview as they generally panic or seem nervous while candidates who have work experience can crack interviews with the help of good knowledge of their work profile & general issues.
