IIT Tirupati is among the 3rd phase IITs. Currently, it is being monitored by IIT Madras and it functions from a temporary campus. The institute is under construction, at present. It has five buildings in the academic zone, two hostels, and a few apartments for faculties and staff members. Sports facilities are yet to be completed.

IIT Tirupati placements have been good for the last two years. During the 2021 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 11 LPA.

IIT Tirupati is one of the youngest IIT campuses that was established in this decade. It is quickly emerging to build a reputation for itself.

Courses offered:

IIT Tirupati offers BTech programs in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.
It also offers MTech programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
At the postgraduate level, the institute also offers MS and Ph.D.

Admission:

Admission to BTech program is through JEE Advanced and JoSAA counseling. MTech admission is based on GATE score.
Admissions based on JAM score are done through JAM counseling.
For doctoral programs, the institute conducts an entrance test which is followed by a personal interview.

Academics:

IIT Tirupati is mentored by IIT Madras. At present there are some batches at the institute also some batches are set to start soon.
Professors from IIT Madras are taking classes for select batches at the transit campus.

Infrastructure:

IIT Tirupati has an excellent infrastructure facility. It is currently operating on a temporary campus. The permanent campus is under construction and comprises of massive 530 acres. The temporary campus comprises about 12 classrooms, virtual classrooms, a library, Physics, Chemistry, Computer labs, etc.

The transit campus has hostel facilities, workshops, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, Gymnasiums, cafeteria, mess, and library. There are separate hostels for boys and girls with air-condition facilities. The sports facilities include cricket and football grounds, basketball, badminton courts, etc. Apart from these the construction of a permanent campus is also taking place at a fast pace.

Placements:

Placements in IIT Tirupati are coordinated by the Career Development Centre (CDC). The Career Development Centre organizes training sessions, workshops, guest lectures, seminars, etc to prepare the students for placements. It also offers internships to the students so that they can gain valuable exposure.

The placements are good and will constantly improve as more batches pass out.

As far as the 2020 batch is considered around 70 students were placed with the highest package of 22 LPA and an average package of 9.18 LPA.
Top recruiters for the batch include reputed organizations such as TCS, Bosch, L&T group, Versa Networks, Honeywell, etc.
