When can one appear for CSIR-UGC NET-JRF/CSIR UGC NET-LS exams?
CSIR-UGC NET-JRF and CSIR-UGC NET-LS exams are conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) twice a year, typically in June and December. The exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS) in the fields of Science and Technology.
To be eligible for the CSIR-UGC NET exam, candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent degree in a relevant field from a recognized university or institute. The age limit for JRF is 28 years (as of the date of the exam), while there is no upper age limit for LS.

The candidate must have one of the following with at least 55% marks in aggregate for General and OBC candidates. A relaxation of 5% is given if you are from SC, ST, and PwD categories.
The candidates who are enrolled for M.Sc. or having completed their 10+2+3 years of the required qualifications, as on their closing date of online submission of their application are also eligible to apply.
B.Sc. (Hons.) or equivalent degree or Integrated MS-PhD holding candidates are also eligible to apply. Thus, a candidate can appear in their Pre-final year under the Results Awaited category.
