TAPMI PGDM is the best option among these. It is a premier B-School. It has AMBA accreditation for all three of the PGDM programs, i.e. PGDM, PGDM-HR, and PGDM-BKFS.

TAPMI placements are excellent. According to 2022 highlights, the average CTC for the institute is INR 12 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 32 LPA.

The one drawback of TAPMI is the huge student intake. Each batch has over 400 students. The huge batch size often causes a dip in placements.

It is difficult to compare these institutions. Since you have not mentioned your interest in specialization or future goals. The mentioned B-Schools belongs to the same league. TAPMI and SIMSR have a rich legacy, but they hit a stagnant state.

The table below gives a brief insight into PGPM at Great Lakes, TAPMI, and KJ Somaiya.

Particulars

TAPMI

KJ Somaiya

Great lakes

Average CTC

11.6 LPA

11 LPA

13.6 LPA

Total course fee

15.10 lakhs

14.93 lakhs

15.91 lakhs

TAPMI:

  • The student intake for PGDM at TAPMI is over 400. The big batch size is an issue for placement, and not everyone gets a good package.
  • They do get some excellent recruiters, though, and if you do well in placements, you can receive a decent CTC.

KJ Somaiya:

  • KJ Somaiya is a reputed institute, but it has the best placements in its core sector. For Retail Management, IMC, and IB, students get placement only in the specific sector.
  • Also for specializations IMC or IB, MICA or SIIB/IIFT will be the better alternatives.
  • Having said that, the institute has a good reputation and a rich legacy of almost 40 years.

Great Lakes:

  • Great Lakes is a new B-School, yet, it has built a reputation for the one-year flagship program.
  • According to the statistics of the 2020 placement drive, the average CTC offered was 9.1 LPA.
  • The faculties of Great Lakes are from some of the most-reputed B-Schools in India and abroad.
  • One of the perks of Great Lakes is the small-batch strength of around 120.

Great Lakes offer a small batch-size, good placements, and excellent faculty. If you want to study in a B-School with a legacy then TAPMI and KJ Somaiya are good choices. I will rank KJ Somaiya above TAPMI for ROI.

Ranking the mentioned B-Schools will just make a comprehensive judgment and it would be imperceptive as the interest and goals of each student are different. All the three mentioned B Schools are of the same league. TAPMI and SIMSR have a rich legacy. However, both of these institutes have hit a plateau.

TAPMI:

  • The student intake in PGDM TAPMI is 400. No doubt that TAPMI is a good school but more number of students means more competition and less decent jobs.
  • Despite this, TAPMI observes some good recruiters and students get good placements if they did well.

KJ Somaiya:

  • KJ Somaiya is also a reputed college but the best placements recorded are only from their core programs.
  • The other domains, such as Retail Management, IMC, and IB do not get such a good response. Also, it would be better to do IMC or IBt at institutes like MICA, SIIB, or IIFT.

Great Lakes:

  • The average package at Great Lakes is around INR 10 LPA. A wide range of companies visit the campus for recruitment.
  • The flagship one year program has built a reputation among students for good internships and placements.
  • The professors are from some of the best schools in India as well as abroad. In terms of the quality of Faculty, Great Lakes is very good.
  • Even if we look at the class size, the class size never exceeds 120.

If you are looking for small groups, amazing professors, and good placement, then you should opt for Great Lakes. In case you are looking for a legacy factor, the other two mentioned B Schools are a good alternative. However, SIMSR is a little better than TAPMI in terms of ROI.
