How is a B.Tech in IT in Thiagarajar College of Engineering? Is it on par with CSE there? And is IT treated equally to CSE during placements?

The IT department in Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) evolved into a centre of excellence and research with a rapid pace. The college ranks 2nd in Tamil Nadu by NIRF and is an autonomous government-aided institute located in Madurai. 

The department of Information Technology consists of 22 top-quality well-qualified and experienced faculty members. 

Admission process

  • The candidates need to pass 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks. 
  • The final selection of the candidates depends on the TNEA exam followed by counselling.
  • The cutoff required is in the range of 2868 - 4132.
  • The course fee required is INR 50,000.
  • The total seats allocated is 120.

Placements

TCE college provides 80% placement in top-notch companies every year for almost all the departments. Some of the students in 2019 got dual placements in many companies.

  • The library consists of 5450 titles and 10500 volumes of books.
  • There are many seminar halls and lecture rooms for many sessions. 

Thus, IT is treated equally with CSE in TCE institute in all aspects. The department of IT has a well-designed curriculum along with interesting labs. They are treated equally with the CSE department.
