Which is better: Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology or Thapar University?

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) has carved a niche for India’s professional institutes and ranks 6th in Punjab. The institute maintained an average growth of 75-80% of students’ placements every year with 300 approx faculties.

Thapar University has been ranked 2nd among the 13 Indian Private Institutions by THE ASIA. It houses more than 11,000 students and consistently provides above 90% placements every year. The institute also offers scholarships worth INR 14 crores.

• The candidates must have a valid 10+2 degree.

Thapar University

• The admission in BTech requires a minimum score of 60% marks in 10+2 with science stream. 
• JEE Main is compulsory for admission in BTech. 
• The percentile required is 90.
• The total seats allocated are 300.
• The fees required is INR 3.24 LPA. 

Placements:- 

SLIET always maintains 75-80% campus placement every year. A total of 192 placement offers were made to the students of SLIET in 2019. CSE received the highest amount of placement of 80%.

Thapar university maintains a good placement record of 90% every year. In 2019, it witnessed a participation of 264 prominent companies and the BTech candidates get the highest amount of placement. 

The top recruiters are Cognizant, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever Limited, TCS, Samsung, Honda, Coca Cola, Mother Dairy, Godrej, IBM, Adobe, etc. 

SLIET being a government university, has better infrastructure and is much ahead of Thapar University. The fees at SLIET are much lesser than Thapar University.
