Which is a better college between IIFT/SP Jain/XLRI and FMS in terms of placements and students?

IIFT, SP Jain, XLRI, and FMS all four institutes are reputed and counted among the top B-Schools in India. For these institutes, your preference order should be as follows.

FMS>IIFT>XLRI>SP Jain

This ranking is based on different parameters such as academics, placements, ranking, faculties, student crowd, etc. FMS offers the best ROI. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC for the institute is INR 32.4 LPA. While FMS Delhi fees are around INR 1.92 Lakhs.

IIFT, SP Jain, XLRI, and FMS all of these institutes belong to the same tier. Academics, placements, or extra-curricular activities will be more or less the same at these institutes. Though each of these institutes has its own perks. 

  • XLRI offers the best HR course, in the country. Their BM course is also at per with any IIM. For placements, it attracts good consulting profiles. 
  • At SP Jain, you will need to choose your specialization, before joining. This has certain advantages and disadvantages. Their marketing program is the most coveted one. Located in the finance capital of the country, Mumbai, it also has a locational advantage. 
  • FMS offers the best ROI. XLRI, SP Jain, IIFT all of these institutes charge a high fee. While FMS charges INR 1.92 Lakhs for their MBA degree. FMS Marketing program is one of the best in the country.

The student crowd will be almost the same in all top B-Schools. The majority of the students will be from Engineering backgrounds. For top colleges, most of the students are IIT, NIT, and BITS alumni.

All of these universities are premier institutes for pursuing MBA and are amongst the top 100 institutions in the country. Out of these XLRI has been consistently ranked amongst top institutes in India and top 100 in Asia.

Rankings:

  • IIFT was ranked at #10 by India Today and at #26 by NIRF for its MBA course.
  • SP Jain, on the other hand, ranked at #4 by India Today and #18 by NIRF for its MBA Course.
  • XLRI has an upstanding ranking record of rank #9 by NIRF and #3 by India Today for its MBA Course.
  • FMS got a ranking of #35 by NIRF and #8 by India Today for their MBA course. 

Admissions:

IIFT

  • A bachelor’s degree is a must from a UGC recognised university
  • Applicants need to clear the IIFT Entrance exam, to participate in further rounds of GD and PI.
  • The total seat intake for the program is 120-150 seats.
  • The fee structure of the program is 16.25 Lakhs.

SP Jain

  • A Valid score in CAT/NMAT/GMAT
  • The fee structure of the program is 17.5 Lakhs.
  • The total seat intake for the 240.

XLRI

  • Applicants need to appear for XAT
  • Cut-off is usually over 90 percentile 
  • The fee structure for the program is 12-26 Lakhs.
  • The total seat intake for the course is 600 seats.

FMS

  • Students must have secured 50% aggregate throughout academics.
  • Applicants need to appear for CAT
  • Final selection is done on basis CAT percentile, GD, PI and Extempore scores
  • The total seat intake for the course is 200 seats.
  • The total fee structure is 20 Lakhs.

IIFT

  • The highest package offered was INR 75 LPA for international placements and INR 46.45 LPA for Domestic.

  • Major recruiters were Simplilearn, Deloitte, IndusInd Bank, GE, JP Morgan etc.

XLRI 

  • The highest package offered was INR 48 LPA and the average package was INR 20 LPA. 
  • Average placement rate records over 95%
  • Highest International CTC is over 1 crore
  • Prominent recruiters are Google, Uber, DE Shaw, GAIL, KPMG, Boston Consulting Group amongst 100+ others

FMS 

  • The placement rate of was around 95%
  • The highest package offered was INR 58.6 LPA and the average package was INR 25.6 LPA.
  • 60+ recruiters took part in the recruitment drive, with chief participating companies being ITC, Cipla, BMW, RBS, Vivo, Adani etc.

Besides the stellar placements offered by all of these universities, SP Jain, XLRI, and FMS offer highly qualified faculty and ample opportunities to learn and grow. However, choosing between one of these universities depends more on the student’s interest and feasibility.
