Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) and Dharmsinh Desai University (DDU) are both well-known universities that provide a 4-year course in mechanical engineering. PDPU offers 47 courses across 7 streams whereas DDU offers 854 courses across 15 streams. Both the universities accept JEE Main and GUJCET scores for granting admission to students.

PDPU

  • Teachers are highly qualified at PDPU. They are helpful and encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities. 
  • The course curriculum is relevant. Students are taken on industrial visits every year. 

DDU

  • At DDU, teachers are supportive and helpful. 
  • Research work is encouraged. Students are also expected to take up internships.

Facilities:-

Both the universities have a lush green campus and many facilities like library, hostel, cafeteria, hostel, Wi-Fi, medical facilities, and updated labs with the latest technology and all necessary equipment. In addition, PDPU also has dance rooms, music rooms, A/C classrooms, and a huge auditorium.

Placements:-

  • Companies like TCS, Reliance, ONGC hire students every year. 
  • The average salary package offered to students is between 4.5 to 5 lakhs per year. 
  • On the other hand, companies like Turbo, MG motors, Linde hire students. The average salary offered ranges from 3.5 to 4 lakhs per year.

Both universities are good and have their own pros and cons. To choose the best university among them depends entirely upon the goals, expectations, availability of resources, and aspirations of each individual.
