How is the placement in mechanical engineering at NIT Silchar?

As per the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Silchar, these are the stats for B.Tech Mechanical 2022 and 2023 placements-

For M.Tech (ME), in 2023, 52 recruiters visited the campus for placements. The highest CTC offered stood at INR 11.7 LPA and the lowest CTC offered was INR 4.5 LPA.

The list of major recruiters for the ME department includes- Accenture, TATA Chemicals, BYJUS, Dalmia, Deloitte, Myntra, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and NTPC, among others.

I would recommend you talk to the alumni and seniors at NIT Silchar to know the condition of core placements at the Mechanical Department. This is because core placements have decreased even for the IITs and one is mostly offered jobs in IT, Finance, Analytics and other sectors. Even for PSUs one has to crack GATE.
