What kind of questions can an ECE student expect for the IIIT Hyderabad PGEE interview?

One of my cousins was selected for both M.Tech VLSI and MS by research and had the opportunity to appear for the interview. The interview was pretty simple and they seemed to test your ability to understand and explain things. 

Here are some of the questions asked by the interviewers:

General Questions

• What is your name
• Where are you from
• Which college
• How well have you been doing in academics, what kind of projects and internships have you done, and what is your GATE score?

Technical Questions

• What is an opamp?
• Derive the voltage and current equations.
• What is modulation?
• Why do we need modulation?
• What types of modulations do you know about?
• Can you think of some other parameters you can modulate?
• Why is image filtering done in the frequency domain?
• What is spatial filtering?

After this, they enquired him about his projects. 

Overall, the panelists evaluated his academic history, ability to explain things, understanding of basic concepts, and willingness to learn.
