Every medical college has its own strengths and weaknesses and comparing them as a whole is very illogical. Government colleges in general give an edge to state colleges because of the plethora of benefits they offer. A few such pros of government colleges in general and AIIMS Rishikesh, in particular, have been listed below

  • AIIMS has very low fees around INR 5856 for the entire course. This includes hostel fees but not mess charges.
  • The college provides top-notch education, experience, and opportunities like no other and the hostel facilities are also great.
  • The teacher: student ratio is ideal and every student gets individual attention thus better growth.
  • AIIMS follow MCQ patterns for their semester and final exams, unlike other medical colleges that follow subjective questions pattern. This unique pattern prepares students for NEET PG and USMLE.
  • AIIMS is probably the only college in India offering MCH orthopaedics

However, one of the major drawbacks of government institutes is the lack of PG quota otherwise present in State medical colleges.
