Yes. You very certainly can. A year of intense preparation can result in a high percentile.

FMS is unconcerned about your academic history. You only need a decent CAT score. This year's general cutoff was around 98.6+. It is possible that it will increase next year. As a result, the greater your score, the better your chances are. The other components you must concentrate on are extempore and PI.

  1. CAT 2022 Weighted Score - 50%
  2. Class X marks - 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, 75% and above: 10%)
  3. Class XII marks - 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, 75% and above 10%)
  4. Statement of Purpose Discussion - 10%
  5. Extemporaneous - 5%
  6. Personal Interview (15%)

When you go into FMS, make sure you work hard. Your academic performance may influence your chances of being shortlisted by select top organisations during summer assignments. However, if you study hard for two years and keep a high CGPA, you have a good chance of being shortlisted by some extremely good company. From there, it's up to you to give it your all and land the job!
