Young India Fellowship (YIF) at IIM Ahmedabad is a one-year multidisciplinary postgraduate program that develops socially conscious leaders. Program selection has three rounds:

Application: Applicants must submit a statement of purpose, academic and extracurricular achievements, and job experience online.

Online Assessment: Shortlisted candidates take a series of examinations to examine their analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Interview: Online test passers are invited to an expert panel interview which is conducted by experts.

YIF interview preparation tips:

  • Programme research: Learn about YIF's curriculum, teachers, and alumni. Understand the program's goals and how they match your professional ambitions.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently: The YIF interview tests communication abilities. Explain how your academic and extracurricular accomplishments relate to your ambitions.
  • Expect frequent questions: Prepare answers to frequent interview questions. Discuss your strengths, limitations, leadership experiences, and YIF contributions.
  • Be you: Be yourself in the YIF interview to assess your fit. Be upfront about your goals and how YIF may help you reach them.

Candidates who prepare and demonstrate their leadership potential, communication skills, and motivation have a better chance of being selected for the YIF program.
