MBA from NMIMS (Graduated 2020)

If you are considering joining NMIMS Mumbai for your MBA, there are several pros and cons that you should take into account.

Pros:

  • Brand Name - NMIMS is one of the most reputed B-Schools in India and is among the top 15 B-Schools in the country. The brand name of the institute carries a lot of weight in the corporate world.
  • Academic Curriculum - You will undergo a rigorous academic curriculum at NMIMS, which is spread over two years. The faculty at the institute is brilliant and will help you develop a strong foundation in management concepts.
  • Peer-to-Peer Learning - NMIMS has a large batch size of around 500 general candidates. This provides an unmatched peer-to-peer learning experience and an opportunity to learn from a diverse group of individuals.
  • State-of-the-Art Campus - NMIMS has a state-of-the-art campus situated in JVPD, which is one of the posh areas of Mumbai. The campus provides all the necessary amenities that you need to have a comfortable stay during your course.
  • Quality Industry Exposure - Due to its Mumbai location and 35 years of corporate relations, NMIMS provides excellent industry exposure. You will get an opportunity to interact with top corporates and learn from their experiences.
  • Excellent Placement Record - NMIMS has an excellent placement record. Even with a batch size of 500 students, the institute is able to complete the final placements much earlier than other B-Schools of the same category. The top 150-200 placements are at par with IIMs for the same companies.

Cons:

  • High Fee Structure- The fees at NMIMS are relatively high compared to other B-Schools in the same category. However, the institute justifies the fees with the quality of education it provides.
  • Not-so-good Hostel Facilities for Boys - The hostel facilities for boys at NMIMS are not up to the mark. This can be a drawback for male students who are not from Mumbai.
  • No Campus Life - NMIMS does not have a proper campus life. The institute is just a building that is big enough to accommodate the entire batch on a single floor.
  • Rigid Rules and Regulations - The rules and regulations at NMIMS are rigid, and the administration is strict. This can be a disadvantage for students who want more freedom.
  • Competition and Pressure - With a batch size of 500 students, the competition is intense, and the pressure is high. You will need to be prepared to work hard and compete with your peers.

In conclusion, if you have the choice to join NMIMS, it is a great college and worth considering. The institute has an excellent reputation and provides quality education, which will help you build a strong career in the corporate world.
