Does distance course degree IGNOU have weightage?

Be it higher education or even a public sector job, the value of a distance degree from IGNOU is the same as that of any UGC recognized degree. This is because:

• Like getting any other regular degree, you are eligible to apply for post-graduation or any other higher education courses in India.

• IGNOU degree holders are eligible for public sector companies and service job opportunities.

• You are also eligible to attend the UGC NET/SET exams if you have completed your PG, UPSC exams, etc provided you clear every other eligibility criteria.

However, some private institutions might have policies that disregard degrees from open universities.
