Is Nirma a good university?

Nirma University is UGC recognized and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Nirma University was ranked 4th out of 50 in Best Private University by Outlook ICARE-Indian Rankings 2020. It is also ranked in the band of 1-10 in the top 10 universities by India Today.

Nirma University has 115 acres campus and hosts several centers and departments, including the Institute of Technology, Institute of Management, Institute of Pharmacy, Institute of Science, Institute of Law, Institute of Architecture & Planning, Institute of Commerce.

Admission:

• Admission to B.Tech programs is through JEE mains or GUJCET and ACPC, Gujrat. While for B. Arch programs, students will have to take the NATA entrance test.

• Admission to M.tech programs is through the GATE score while that of M. Pharm is done through scores obtained in the GPAT entrance test.

• For MBA programs, students need to take the CAT entrance test followed by an interview for selection.

• Admission to doctoral programs is done through scores obtained in national entrance tests such as GATE/NET/JRF and SET.

Alumni:

Jay Shah- Indian Businessman and Cricket Administrator, is one of the alumni of Nirma University. Other notable alumni include Minal Rohit who is a Scientist at ISRO and helped send the Mangalyaan probe to Mars.

Research:

Research at NU is funded by DBT, ISRO, DST, and several other industries. Currently, there are 60 ongoing research projects and a total of 1045 Scopus Indexed Research Publications.

Facilities:

• The university library has over 55,000 books, 4409 bound volumes, 243 current journals, magazine and newspaper subscriptions, 2020 standards, and 700 ASCE, IEEE / IET, ACM, etc. e-journals.

• The library has collaborated with some reputed institutions and Societies such as the Institute of Engineers, Kolkata, Indian Geotechnical Society, and Developing Library Network.

Placement:

Dabur, Daikin, Essar, GNFC, Hindustan Unilever, IBM, Sun Pharma, Trident, Zydus, Wipro, L&T, Sanmar, Samsung, Morgan Stanley, etc. are a few of the recruiters at Nirma University.
