Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology - [IIEST] Shibpur is ranked 19th whereas the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bangalore is ranked at 62 among the top colleges of India by NIRF Ranking for Engineering Colleges for the year 2020.

Courses-

IIEST Shibpur-

IIEST offers B.Arch and B.Tech in various specializations at the UG level. Admission to the UG level is based on the performance of the student in JEE Mains.
At the PG level, the courses offered are M.Tech, MBA, MSc, etc. Admission to MTech, MBA, and MSc programs is through GATE, CAT, and IIT JAM respectively.

IIIT Bangalore-

IIIT Bangalore offers Integrated M.Tech, M.Tech, MSc, and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines.
Admission to Integrated M.Tech programs is through JEE Main.
For M.Tech the admission is made through GATE.
For MSc and Ph.D. students the institute conducts written tests and interviews.

Since the very beginning of its foundation, IIIT Bangalore has maintained 100% placement every year. According to placement highlights of 2019, the highest salary package of 20 LPA and an average salary of 10 LPA was offered by the recruiting companies.
