How good is Mangalore University?

Mangalore University offers good facilities and infrastructure for learning. It has one of the best libraries in Karnataka. It has a vast collection of books and magazines. Students are also given access to an e-library. 

MU syllabus is outdated. The guest faculties aren’t good. Some of them lack basic knowledge of the subject. The permanent faculty base is better in comparison. 

Although Mangalore University offers decent resources and facilities, in terms of academics it’s not a good option. 

One of my friends studied at Mangalore University (MU). According to him, it used to be a good institution initially, but as you get to spend some time you get to know it better.

• MU had a diverse student crowd. 
• There were students from Nepal, Afghanistan, Namibia and Madagascar.
• It has one of the best libraries in Karnataka.
• They have a vast collection of reading materials. Students are given access to the E-Library also.
• The syllabus and curriculum is outdated. 
• Guest lectures were never informative or helpful. 
• The teachers have poor communication skills. Though being highly qualified their quality of teaching was not good.
• They fail to complete the syllabus and often skip classes.

Apart from the curriculum, the annual sports meet, which is an inter-department competition and inter-department cultural fest, Sambrama, are the only good things that is keeping the college worthy enough.
