AIIMS Bhubaneswar is better than state medical colleges in many aspects. Here are some points to support this statement.

It conducts regular classes, whereas in-state colleges most of the time goes away in strikes which results in postponement of the classes.
The faculty is a mixture of both experienced members and young, enthusiastic teachers.
People might think that being a new hospital, the clinical training may not be proper. But due to an increase in patient load and a lesser number of students per group, as compared to state colleges, they get the required exposure.
The examination pattern and curriculum are similar to AIIMS Delhi.
New recruitments have been conducted, expecting an increase in faculty members.

Obviously, there are many more improvements required but being a new college AIIMS Bhubaneswar is better than state colleges when everything is considered.

Also, the college is very strict about studies. There are fewer holidays and many exams so getting free time is a bit difficult but not impossible.
