I have a few friends from Asutosh College and according to them, it is a decent institute for pursuing your studies. Although it is infamous for campus politics, you can choose to not engage in it. You can carry out your studies in peace without getting involved in politics and other things. The environment on campus is peaceful. Faculties take classes regularly. 

The college also organizes many cultural programs such as College freshers, departmental freshers, 3rd-year senior alumni, etc.
