B.Com hons from University of Delhi (2021)

The main disadvantage of pursuing a B.Com P instead of B.Com Hons is the syllabus. Delhi University B.Com Hons syllabus has a perfect blend of theory and practical subjects. You can also specialize in some subjects. B.Com Hons covers the subjects in more detail compared to B.Com P.

This is why recruiters prefer B.Com Hons students over B.Com P students. If you are planning on pursuing CA or CS, then pursuing B.Com (H) will be better.

Studied Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (2018)

The courses B.Com (pass) and B.Com (honors) do not have a massive difference in the range of advantages and disadvantages.

  • The subjects studied in B.Com (honors) are in great detail and have practical approaches that become a huge boost when you go for post-graduation like MBA, M.Com, and such.
  • Even at the time of placement, usually, the companies recruit a candidate with B.Com (honors) rather than B.Com (pass).
  • You also get to specialize in certain subjects in B.Com (honors) degree whereas B.Com (pass) only gives you an overview.
  • If you wish to just get graduation and focus on your other competitive exams or some professional course then you can opt for B.Com (pass) in DU since the course will not be very tough and the approach is very theoretical.

Any degree earned from DU has a reputation of its own. It is also mandatory to have studied Maths if you apply for B.Com (honors) unlike B.Com (pass).
