For the Computer Science and Information Technology departments:

The number of product-based companies visiting HIT-K is very low when compared to Jadavpur and Shibpur university (current IIEST), but it is higher than other colleges under WBUT.

1) Digital Dynamic Technology (R & D of Polaris networks).

2) Nomura Institute of Research

3) Yodlee Information Technology

Because all of the companies mentioned above are small, their intake is limited at times.

If you want to excel, you can start doing projects under different professors, there is a coding club, and they have recently started organizing monthly coding contests on Hackerrank.

Make connections with seniors who are already working in product-based companies and try to get internships through referrals. You should not wait until the third year to start an internship; learn C/C++/Java, DS, and Algo and you'll be ready to start an internship at any product-based company. Microsoft held an off-campus event, but it does not count because it occurred only once.

In terms of the CTC, it is determined by the year and the organization.

All companies irrespective of their outlook work on a specific product such as - IT firm creates software products, a Data Analytics firm creates consumer data products, and a Manufacturing Company produces actual tangible products. It depends on what kind of product-based company you want to go to because most of the companies in the world have different products.

Based on the information, following are the companies according to the domains of products they have.

IT – TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Wipro, ITC Infotech, Ericsson India, Xplorsoft
Manufacturing – Philips Carbon Black, Va Tech Wabagh, Star Cement, SRMB Group, BOC India
Consulting – Accenture, Nomura Research Financial Technology, UST Global

Also, there are many times pool campus selections and even Microsoft conducts its pool campus selections here some years. As far as the CTC is concerned it depends on the year and the firm.
