B.Tech from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur (2019)

There are a total of 25 IIIT’s in India, the very first established one being IIITM Gwalior. Out of these 25 only 5 of the IIIT’s are funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which are the following:

  • ABV-IIITM Gwalior
  • IIIT Allahabad
  • IIITDM Jabalpur
  • IIITDM Kurnool
  • IIITDM Kancheepuram

The remaining 20 IIIT’s have been set up under the management of Public-Private Partnership (PPP). In order to apply for any of the colleges mentioned above, students are not required to make any separate application by filling a form. The application method is simple and to the point.

  • Students appearing for BTech programs need to appear for JEE Mains while BDes students must clear UCEED. After this, through direct JoSAA counseling students will be able to get allocated seats in colleges that they are eligible for and have chosen in the form. The allocation of seats through JoSAA counseling entirely depends upon the colleges ranked and selected in the form along with relevant Entrance exam test scores, which is JEE or UCEED.
  • For MTech or MDes programs students are required to appear for GATE and CEED qualified entrance exams respectively. Again, students are selected and allocated seats purely based on their test scores.

Therefore, you basically need not fill out any separate form in order to be eligible to apply for any of these IIIIT colleges. You may simply appear for the required entrance examinations and ensure to complete the JoSAA counseling while mentioning and ranking the colleges based on preference. This will lead you to get required seat allocations at the college of your choice, depending on your relevant test scores.

In case of applications to PPP managed IIIT colleges like IIIT Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, etc, students will then be required to fill out a separate form for applications.
