Major core sector companies that recruit NIT Trichy MTech VLSI students are Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Invidia, Western Digital, and Nivida. Usually, Semiconductor companies recruit VLSI students in verification, digital, and hardware job positions. According to the recent highlights of NIT Trichy placements, almost all students from M.Tech VLSI, get placed. The salary packages offered are in the range of INR 6 LPA - 24 LPA.

As some of my friends studied M.Tech at NIT Trichy, I might be able to provide you with the answers.

Core firms such as Nvidia, Alcatel Lucent, Intel, Sandisk, Samsung, etc. are regular.
Almost 100% of the students are placed. They received salary packages ranging from 10 - 12 LPA.
However, you will need to put in a lot of effort and be in the top 5% of your class.
Remember that you will be competing with UGs, PhDs, and MS students for job opportunities.
Hence, competition will be fierce, and your academics as well as your relationships with professors and fellow students will be crucial.
There are various software and analytics companies that offer jobs to everyone with a basic understanding of coding.
Aside from these, you will have a plethora of different research options, both within and outside the country.

So in the end, I would like to conclude that there is no one factor but various. So work hard, polish your skills and build a good CV and give your best shot in the interview.
