MBA from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR)

You have fairly good chance of getting admission into the KJ Somaiya MBA program with average academics and a good entrance examination score.

The admission weight components for KJ Somaiya MBA are as follows.

Components  Percentage of Weight
Entrance examination score  35%
Academic record 10%
Personal interview 25%
Case analysis 15%
Work Experience  5%
Outstanding achievements 10%

As you can observe from the above table, entrance score is given 35% weightage. If you perform well in the GD-PI round, there’s a good chance that you will be able to get a shortlist.

MBA Retail Management, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (2022).

A good entrance score can open a plethora of doors for you and boost your chances of getting into a prestigious university. It should be emphasized, however, that your previous academic performance is also considered while considering your candidacy.

The MBA admissions process at K J Somaiya Institute of Management is a straightforward procedure.

  1. Appearing for any of the entrance exams (CAT, XAT, NMAT, or CMAT)
  2. After this, you will be shortlisted for a Group Discussion and Personal interview round. In light of the Covid scenario, management has decided to conduct Case Analysis and Personal Interviews rather than a Group Discussion.
  3. Following the announcement of the Merit List, you must fill out an online form with your program preferences.
  4. Finally, based on their choices, merit positions, and seat availability, the shortlisted candidates will be offered the program of their choice.

The following table shows the weightage of each component while preparing the merit list:

Particulars Weightage
Qualifying Exam 35%
Personal Interview 25%
Group Discussion/ Case Analysis 15%
Past Academic Records 10%
Achievements 10%
Work Experience 5%

K J Somaiya Institute of Management follows certain selection factors, including your complete profile and achievements rather than focusing solely on a few specific scores. If you have aced your Case analysis and Personal interview, and you have an otherwise stellar resume, a minor setback shouldn’t derail your progress.

You have the same chance as everyone else if you can compensate for a weakness in one area with strength in another.
