How is life in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, especially in the mechanical branch?

One of my cousins is a second-year student in the department of mechanical engineering at KJ Somaiya. As per her experiences, life at KJ Somaiya is unique and different when compared to other institutions of Mumbai. 

It is an autonomous institution and offers one of the best courses in mechanical engineering in Mumbai. Here’s what I got to know about the mechanical department.

• Every semester would feel similar, with a few exceptions and changes in the subjects.
• The professors of the institution are highly experienced. 
• The exam pattern followed by the institute is a bit peculiar. The students are given only one day to prepare for each one of their examinations. 
• Students should start studying during the semester because study leaves are shorter.
• The enrolled candidates at the institute are given a 2 months vacation after the examinations.
• The campus is pretty huge.
• The sports facilities available are also good. Several recreational activities are available for students on campus.
• The food items of the canteen are reasonably priced and the canteen serves excellent meals.
• The student crowd of the mechanical department is really competitive and hard working.
• The gender ratio of male and female students enrolled is not that good.
