No, NIT Trichy ranks lower than IIIT Delhi, in terms of placements, academics, exposure, coding culture, environment, etc. Being located in Delhi, it has a huge locational advantage. It’s easier to get internships and projects in the various industrial sectors around Delhi NCR.

IIIT Delhi has an amazing coding culture. You will get to learn a lot about programming from your seniors and peers.

IIIT Delhi placement record for 2021 shows an average CTC of INR 14 LPA. The placement average is around 94.06%.

Taking admission to either of the colleges will be worth it. NIT Trichy is an old institute whereas IIIT D was established recently. Taking all the factors into accounts such as faculty, environment, exposure, and placement, you must opt for IIITD. In a short span of time, it has done great work overall.

Now comparing it factor wise:

  • Faculty members at IIITD are much better than any NIT in our country. Most of them are Ph.D. holders from universities like Illinois, Carnegie Mellon, etc.
  • The coding environment is enormous in IIITD and there is no match for NIT Trichy. If you really want to learn you should opt for IIITD.
  • Being in Delhi, the country’s capital offers great internships with the best exposure. Companies of not only software sector but other sectors company also come to give intern in various field in IIITD as well.
  • IIITD has grown tremendously in the last 5 years in terms of job opportunities. During the recent placement drive in 2021, the institute received the highest package of 39 LPA.

I do think that it will surpass NIT Trichy in upcoming years for sure. If it comes to tag then I would say either will be great.
