Here are some tips to guide you for your IPM exam preparation alongside your board exam prep-

It is absolutely not necessary to go for any specialized coaching for your IPM exam. It does not require any ‘special’ preparation. In fact, a lot more students clear the exam without going for any special coaching.
Prepare well for your board exams. A good knowledge of important concepts will help you during the personal interview round, and also boost your confidence. Give special attention to Math.
The aptitude test has a big chunk of questions on Mathematical ability (it does not include calculus). The question pattern isn’t definite. So practice your 12th level Math well and you’ll get through the written exam with much more ease.
As for PI, read the newspaper well after your board exams. This will help improve your English on the side.
Practice the entrance question papers from previous years. Those are available on the IIM Indore website.
Instead of grabbing huge books on English and Mental Ability, just read a lot.
Have some solid academic or extracurricular achievements to increase your selection chances, and give you an edge above others.

The preparation depends completely on you. Opting for coaching classes is not necessary to do well in your examination. I have friends who have cleared the exam without any coaching at all.

You should rather choose to invest your time in the upcoming board exams. It will not only help establish a strong foundation but will help you ace your personal interview. You should also focus on every subject, especially mathematics.

The reason why you should concentrate more on mathematics is that a reasonable amount of the aptitude test contains questions on mathematical ability. It needs more practice because the pattern of the questions cannot be determined. You must become compatible with the subject so as to get to the PI round.

Following your boards, you should start reading newspaper articles, to stay updated with current affairs. This will help you in the PI session. It will also enhance your English communication skills. You can fetch the sample papers of the same on the website of the institute.
