MBA from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

One of my friends graduated from NITIE and here are some things I got to know from him.

Firstly, I don't think you should drop your job to pursue PGDIE in NITIE.

  • NITIE is good for Supply Chain and Operations. But no matter how good it is, it will be nothing compared to a proper work experience.
  • Having a friend who is a BPCL employee and an ISB graduate, I would say, in case you want to go for learning industrial management, BPCL would be a great place to be.
  • However, if you want to pursue a generic MBA and change your field, probably you would like to try your hands on IIMs, ISB, or other top 10 institutes in India.
  • A lot of MBA graduates from NITIE go to FMCG companies. But Supply Chain is not their main focus.
  • Due to this sometimes one gets relegated to support function, and their growth in the detector is stunning. It will be difficult to get a business leadership role.

Be very clear about your development goals and why you want to do your MBA since it is only a path to achieve what you want. Generally, things start afresh during the tenure of an MBA.
