How is the orientation programme at Thapar University?

The student orientation at Thapar University is also known as Orientation Week, Fresher’s week, and Welcome Week. Several events are held during the entire duration of this week. You will be officially oriented and welcomed into the university then.

Here are some points to keep in mind:

• You will be asked to attend orientation compulsorily at the time of admission.
• However, it is not a compulsory event and no attendance will be recorded. Do not worry as it is not related to your academic records.
• If you feel bored in these events or seminars, you can simply go to your room and rest there.
• Always ensure that you take your lectures, classes, labs as well as and tutorial classes seriously. Attendance is mandatory here and it is recorded. Maintain at least 75% attendance in this case.
• Overall, the orientation program goes for about two hours roughly. The Dean, DOSA, and the Director of the college attend the college. They will also introduce you to several things concerning the university.
• You will learn about academic grade systems, semester, and also about different rules and regulations.
• If you are interested in placements, you will be provided with this as well.
