IIM Ahmedabad without an IIT degree is not only possible but also an exciting opportunity. To get into IIM Ahmedabad, you must first master the CAT test-taking approach, which takes time. It goes beyond merely covering the course, which will take at least 6 months for a typical student.

Do you know what's really cool about being surrounded by IITians, especially when it comes to their incredible math skills? It's like being in the presence of math wizards. But here's the thing, at IIM Ahmedabad, there are only a few papers that dive deep into pure mathematics. So, those math geniuses get to shine brightly in those subjects. It's their moment to show their exceptional talents.

It doesn't end there. IITians, like everyone else, have their strengths and weaknesses. You might see them struggling in subjects like Operations, Marketing, or Organizational Behaviour (OB). It's a reminder that being exceptional in one area doesn't mean they're naturally gifted in everything.

Remember the phrase from marketing, 'Carve your niche'? That's your superpower. Focus on what you're passionate about, where you excel, and where you can make a real impact.

At first, you may feel a bit like a fish out of water, especially if you aren’t comfortable with numbers. Most top B-School in India has a quant-heavy curriculum. So, IITians have it easy for obvious reasons.

But soon you will realize MBA covers much more than quant-based subjects. So, if you work hard, you can manage the rigorous curriculum well, irrespective of your academic background.

One of my friends is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and many of his classmates were from IIT. He was always amazed by their exceptional mathematics skills. In IIM Ahmedabad there are 3 pure math-based papers and the IITian used to ace those papers.
But my friends also witnessed them struggle with other subjects like Operation, Marketing, etc. So, just because someone is from an IIT does not necessarily mean that they will have better knowledge in every single subject. You will find many people in IIMs who are not from IIT and are great at some subjects. So, it’s on you to find your niche.
