I have a friend who is an alumnus of NIT Raipur. According to him, you should not emphasize much on the placement statistics. As placement for a particular academic year depends a lot on that year’s economic condition in the industry.
During his final year, around 20 companies visited the campus for the Mechanical branch, out of which only 7-8 were core companies. This was because of demonetization that year.
The recent placement statistics of NIT Raipur are as follows.
Highest CTC | 16 LPA |
Average CTC | INR 9.5 LPA. |
Number of mechanical students placed | 78 out of 89 students. |
Major recruiters | Vedanta, Reliance, L&T, etc. |
It’s better if you concentrate on your studies and focus on getting good CPI in all your semesters. If you have the required knowledge and skills then you might get good placements in companies like TATA and Maruti.
