You can opt for a Merit-cum-means scholarship at NIT Raipur and it is one of the two institutes in Chandigarh providing this scholarship. Here is some information on the same:

Eligibility:

  • If you have secured admission to pursue any technical or professional courses, you are eligible for the scholarship on the basis of a competitive exam.
  • Even if you have not appeared for a competitive exam, you are eligible for this scholarship. But, you should have not scored less than 50% marks in your graduation or higher secondary as students are selected mainly on a merit basis.
  • The scholarship is continued in the subsequent years as you complete your course and how well you do in the preceding year.
  • You cannot avail oother scholarships or stipends during this course.
  • Your family’s annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakhs.

If you are a hosteler, you can expect the rate of the scholarship to be between INR 30000 to INR 50000 for a day scholar.

Documents required:

  • A copy of the application form
  • Passport size photograph with your signature
  • Attested copy of the certificate, diploma, degree in all exams passed.
  • Proof of permanent residence.
  • Declaration of income by parents or guardians. This should include income from all sources in the form of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper.
