It is important to note that XIMB does not consider the GK section in its selection process for its management programs. This information is confirmed and can be verified through research. Additionally, it is important to note that the GK section is only considered by the parent institution organizing the XAT exam, XLRI Jamshedpur, during their selection process.

It is important to keep in mind that different institutions have different selection criteria and it's crucial to be aware of the same while applying.

The shortlist is based on the three sections, i.e Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. However, during an interview, they may ask you questions related to the GK section. Scoring well in this section can play a major role in converting. Also, it is also possible that the panelists may not count in the score of this section for shortlisting.

One of my friends scored 99% percentile in GK for XAT, and none of the panelists asked him about it directly during his interviews though they may have given it a glance while looking at his resume and scores.

As far as what I heard from my friends, I will say XIMB does not consider GK score for shortlisting.
