Well, the final choice totally depends on you, however, dropping one more year is not a wise thing to do. If you have scored a low rank that can’t get you into IITs or NITs, here are some useful tips that will enlighten you in this tough time.

  • If your current score is too low to get into the IITs, it is most likely that you will score an extra 20-30 marks next year. Sadly, this also won’t help you get into a top IIT or NIT all of a sudden.
  • On the other hand, if you decide to take admission in an institute like IIIT Lucknow, you won’t waste a year and you will learn a lot.
  • It is a big misconception that only top IITs and NITs can get you great placements. Yes, do not underestimate IIITs.
  • If you are passionate and hard-working enough, you can grab equally lucrative packages from prestigious institutes like IIIT Lucknow.

My brother himself dropped a year for 3rd attempt and he did regret it later. However, later he joined IIIT Allahabad and he is already getting good placement offers there. So, you don’t have to always depend on the brand tag to be successful in your life.
