Studied at Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri

In terms of academics, and placements, BIT Sindri Production is average. Being a niche course, the number of students taking Production is less. The average package offered to the students of this course is around INR 5.4 LPA. The highest CTC goes up to INR 10.34 LPA. Companies such as TATA Power, TATA Steel, TCS, Reliance Industries, etc. recruit Production students through BIT Sindri placements.

The branch of Production engineering in BIT Sindri is considered average in terms of placement and opportunities. There are some key highlights about the department and its scope, some of which are listed below in the following points.

  • If you have a low AIR in JCECE go for Production Engineering at BIT Sindri. To be very clear, it is the least preferred branch in the institute, or the last branch to be selected by students.
  • The strength of Production Engineering is very less with an average of 55 students in general.
  • Production Engineering offers placements to more than 50% of its students in recent years.
  • The syllabus of Production Engineering matches the syllabus of Mechanical Engineering by more than 65% grossly. Therefore, it is also recognized as a small brother of Mechanical Engineering in terms of curriculum.
  • The main problem faced by students in Production Engineering is that they have to appear in GATE along with mechanical engineers. Due to the tough competition of mechanical engineering subjects in GATE, the chances of these students decrease gradually.

Therefore, the stream of Production Engineering has some placement in the industry, along with average scope in PSUs and M.Tech through GATE. No branch in engineering is worthless, and there is no better degree than engineering that increases the will-power of students to succeed in any branch they study and excel in their career.
