Is it good to attend the IIIT Hyderabad's artificial intelligence and machine learning certification program? The course duration is 15 months and the cost is 1.5 to 2 lakhs.

I know someone who did the course and he does not recommend it. Here is what he had to say about the course.

• You may hear people say that the faculty is good and this is true. Professor CV Jwahar and Anoop are great and have good knowledge in their subject but their method of teaching is orthodox.
• You will be doing the course with MS students who are doing the course full time and studying advanced course material.
• The attendees of this course can be divided into two categories, i.e. management people, and technical people. Management people mostly do this course so that they can upgrade their job profile, have enough understanding of the concept so that they can make conversation and assign the task. Whereas, Technical people genuinely want to learn how things work and increase ML Algorithm prediction.

My friend suggested it would be better to get a basic understanding of ML first. You can join the ML and Deep Learning Coursera course by Andrew NG for that. There are many blogs on the internet about ML, read those and you will get an idea of what you need to study next.

The course is not worth the huge amount it costs. It is conducted by Talent Sprint and they don’t have their own faculty so they associate with IIIT Hyderabad.
