One of my friends attended Shiv Nadar University. She loved the time she spend on campus.
Academics:
The course curriculum and grading system are designed in such a way that, you won’t be able to slack off. The campus seniors have taken a great initiative to decrease the academic load of juniors through the LASC program. Through this program, seniors teach important topics, resolve doubts and also help juniors plan out preparation strategies for examinations.

After IIT Hyderabad and BITS, Thapar University is the third-best private college, while the other two are unsuitable for engineering.
If you have the option, choose a branch in Thapar over SNU.
Thapar University is one of India's most prominent and best engineering institutes, ranked second only to Bits Pilani in terms of private institutes. In the NIRF rankings, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is holding 20th position.
Thapar is superior in every way, including crowds, brand, studies, research, placements, and campus environment, etc.

Some of the key factors about the institutes are discussed below.
Shiv Nadar University- It has been continued to be the preferred hiring choice for both Indian and international organizations. They make students learn how to face employers in a competitive campus hiring environment during the final year. The companies include Consulting companies, Engineering and Manufacturing companies, Startups, Academic institutions, NGOs and Social establishments Think Tanks, Financial institutions, etc.
Manipal University- It is one of the main constituents of the Manipal Education Group. Located on 122 acres of campus near Jaipur, the university boasts modern infrastructure including all audio-video aided classrooms, research facilities, and a modern, digital library. For onboard students, the university has a hostel facility for over 5900 with centralized WI-FI connectivity, gym, sports facility, CCTV surveillance, etc. Hostels for boys and girls are separate.
So, according to all the above-mentioned points, Shiv Nadar University and Manipal University share very equivalent academic quality. Now one can choose based on their own preferences.
Despite being IIT Kanpur, a whole brand, many prefer SNU over it. There are multiple reasons why people would choose a private institute over a government-funded institute.
Being a new university, SNU cannot be found in the recent rankings but it soon will surpass other institutes.
IT from MSIT (Maharaja Surajmal) is better. It has a better industry presence, especially in NCR. Many reputed companies take part in MSIT placements. Google, MU Sigma, ZS Associates, Jaro Education, Wingify, Infosys, etc. are among the major recruiters. Students receive an average package of around INR 4-5 LPA. Symbiosis School of economics has a traditional approach towards academics. Also, SSE is known more for business-related courses. Whereas SNU is reputed for its Economics courses.
Both the universities are well renowned and are known for their quality education and placements. Whereas, the only difference lies in the selection procedure.
IISERs only accept admissions on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. Thus, giving you a better peer group. But SNU also offers a good BSc/MSc program for Physics.
Thus, choosing any one of them is definitely a tough task. But given the choice between the two, students tend to go with IISER, due to its selection factor.
