Is it worth taking a loan of around 6-7 lakhs for IIFM, Bhopal Forestry Management Course (Wildlife)? Isn't it a burden with a salary just being around 5-6 LPA?

IIFM Bhopal is a sectorial institute that can provide you with a great number of opportunities. To name certain fields- Development, MNC, Wildlife, Microfinance, Banks, Forestry. You can choose any one of the following and you would never end up being disappointed.

The highest placement package offered at IIFM Bhopal was 14 LPA in 2020. The salary you would be offered here would not be very appealing as it might not be as popular as the others.

As far as loan is concerned and considering the entire atmosphere or IIFM, Bhopal- it would absolutely be worth it.

Everything depends on your interest ultimately. You are bound to feel burdened when you already are familiar with the fact that the job neither carries your interest nor does it pay you well.

Yes, it is natural that when you are applying for a course in Wildlife, you are bound to encompass aspects of Wildlife as well, which would be a crucial part of the course. This includes Ecosystem Management, Wildlife Conservation, Forestry, and Environment.

The most interesting fact here is that once you complete your course on Wildlife from IIFM, Bhopal you would manage to grab a golden opportunity for yourself to work with reputed wildlife organizations like World Wildlife Fund (WWF), MP Tiger Foundation, MP Forest Department, and many others like that.

If you are just as passionate about forests and wildlife, you should definitely go for IIFM Bhopal. Perhaps try to connect with alumni for better clarification on your queries as they would have better to explain along with on-ground knowledge.

Why should anyone join IIFM Bhopal for PGDFM program?

KS
Krishna Shrivastava Posted On : July 15th, 2021
PGDFM Environmentalism, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal (2018)

IIFM Bhopal is an excellent institute for forest management courses, providing a degree that offers much more than knowledge of general management. You will learn to apply management practices in development sectors.

The forest management course usually deals with the application of management practices in the forest development sector, which has its unique approach. MBA pass-outs from IIFM work as managers in several sectors, taking difficult decisions like the banning and control of falling of trees, framing a criminal offense for the poaching of wildlife, etc.

Let’s consider a real-life scenario, if an old villager is accused of killing a tiger, he/she will be punished for 7 years with a monetary fine in the court of law. It will be a matter of political, ethical, legal, and economic approach for a general management student, resulting in the villager being punished. But, for an MBA in forest management, he/she will also consider the livelihood side of the villager, his conditions of living, and the circumstances that led to the crime. This is the major difference in approach.

The PGDFM program in IIFM Bhopal has its characteristics and approach of study, which is unique, and that makes it a decent choice for students interested in the field.

Is IIFM Bhopal worth it?

SS
Sayanti Shome Posted On : May 13th, 2021
Post Graduate Diploma in Environment Management & Rural Development and Management, Indian Institute of Forest Management (2019)

IIFM Bhopal is not exclusivelyabout Forestry in particular as it comprises several other subjects as well.

  • The syllabus would cover topics like Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and others that relate to the Marketing side.
  • Instead of joining the core management sector, you would master yourself in 3 main domains which are- Rural Development Management, Environment Management, and Conservation and Livelihood Management. This, in particular, is what makes IIFM what it is today.

By the time you would have completed your course and stepped out in society, you would realize that you are capable enough to make a good contribution to society. You would be carrying such a unique niche as compared to other management graduates that you would be somewhat superior to them in strict terms of expertise. Even if you speak in terms of ROI, IIFM is absolutely worth it as well.

How is the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, and what is the admission procedure?

ND
Narman Das Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
PGDFM Environmentalism, Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal (2018)

If you are interested in studying wildlife, flora, and fauna of a region, rural development, environmental conservation, climate change, economic empowerment, forest sustenance, etc then IIFM Bhopal is the best one to go to in India.

It's a niche market if you see it one way. But if you're really passionate about the aforementioned fields then, you can make a thriving career out of it.

  • The admission procedure is similar to other B-schools. A valid score in CAT/XAT is required. The institute will shortlist based on the score.
  • You will have to keep checking the official website for the shortlisting announcement. The final steps will include WAT and personal interview; if you perform well, You'd easily get in.
  • You will only be called on the basis of the percentile scored in the exams. Then the WAT will test your writing skills and the interview will finalize your position. The final test score will be an admixture of the three.

A regular MBA from any other college will be better than IIFM's but for forest management, it's definitely the best India can offer.
