IIT Dhanbad and IIT Bhubaneswar are well-reputed for having an excellent academic curriculum for Electrical Engineering. However, the choice majorly depends on your career goals and personal preference.

  • I would say, opting for IIT Bhubaneswar is a better choice as it has excellent facilities and offers great academic and research facilities to the students.
  • IIT Bhubaneswar offers undergraduate and Postgraduate programs for EE.
  • The average course fee for the first year of BTech in EE from IIT Bhubaneswar is around INR 2.32 Lakhs.
  • The placement scenario for the EE branch at IIT Bhubaneswar is pretty good with 92.86% of students placed in the placement drive. With the highest package being INR 44.62 LPA and the average package being INR 19.05 LPA.

Studied at Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad

IIT(ISM) Dhanbad being an institute that was established in 1926 has its own legacy and alumni base working in the world’s top MNCs and India's government services. Whereas IIT Bhubaneswar is one of the new IITs which provides good opportunities to its student but doesn't have the alumni base as large as IIT Dhanbad.

86% of the students of EE from IIT Bhubaneswar got placed with an average salary of 11.4 LPA. Whereas in IIT Dhanbad it was 75.7% and the average salary offered was around 15.5 LPA.

IIT Dhanbad has all kinds of societies such as Tech societies, cyber societies, coding clubs, dance and drama clubs, etc.) for students from almost all of its departments while IIT Bhubaneswar also has societies regarding all of its departments but it lacks behind having good exposure to tech societies. Both the IITs have a well-developed infrastructure. Considering the faculty, IIT Dhanbad being an old institution has an experienced faculty and staff.

Both the IITs are good for EE and have their pros and cons.
