The Computer Science Department at IIIT Guwahati is doing pretty well so far, considering its year of establishment. It is an upcoming institute with a lot of potentials to grow and is soon going to become one of the leading institutions in the northeast region for CSE.

  • Some of the core courses like Data Structures, Computer Organization, Electrical Circuit Analysis, Basic Electronics are introduced in the first year itself, just like any other IIIT institute.
  • It has a great course structure and the syllabus is updated quite frequently. The needs in the current technological world are always kept in mind while updating the syllabus.
  • You are taught to code and teachers and seniors are always ready to help you.
  • The instructors are quite enthusiastic about teaching, and the best part being, you cannot mug up and score a high CGPA because the question paper/exam is application-based.
  • The faculty will make sure that you through the subjects to score well.
  • The coding assignments, by the students, are being submitted on a portal similar to an online teacher/ examiner.

Placements are quite good and are improving at a rapid rate. If you work hard enough and make the most out of the 4 years, you would surely get placed in a good product-based company. Many students got several technical and non-technical jobs in the first and second year.
