What's life like in NIT Trichy?
Campus life at NIT Trichy is amazing. The huge campus is facilitated with all sorts of resources for academics, extracurricular activities, and sports.
- The hostel is area is fully equipped with high-speed WiFi. The hostel common rooms are airconditioned and there are TV, table tennis, carom boards.
- The hostel area also has a night canteen that stays open until 2-3 am. There’s a CCD on campus that stays open 24*7.
- There are cricket grounds, volleyball, basketball courts near the hostel area.
- The campus also has a swimming pool, various clubs. The sports center has gym facilities for boys. Girl’s gym is in opal.
- The campus library has a good collection of books. The Octagon computer center stays open 24*7.
- Life at campus is vibrant during fests like Pragyan, Festember and NITTFEST.
The only thing that can trouble you is the weather at Trichy. Since it is hot, it becomes difficult to walk or cycle back and forth from lectures and mess to hostels.

Life at NIT Trichy is great in every aspect. You get to interact with students from different communities and linguistic origins, although English is the medium of language mostly used. The campus is in a beautiful environment and is equipped with all the necessary facilities for students.
The hostels in this institute are quite good, rooms are spacious compared to other NITs and IITs. In the first-year students are given accommodation in 3 sharing rooms. There are wifi facilities available with decent internet speed. The campus is huge and as a result, few of the hostels are far from the lecture halls and for that students are allowed to keep bicycles inside the campus.
The overall academic activities within the campus are quite good and the infrastructure of the college is quite decent. The institute has a 24*7 dedicated computer labs that are fully air-conditioned and equipped with all important software like Creo, Tina, Solidworks, FluidSim, etc. The institute library is a large four floored building with a sufficient number of books for scholars. Students also get a chance to participate in renowned clubs like TEDx Trichy, AIESEC, RMI, Spider, Delta, including others. There are two fests, Festember- The Cultural Fest, Pragyan- The Techno-Management Test which helps develop interpersonal skills, managerial skills, finance, and marketing, organizing ability.
NIT Trichy offers decent placement, every year 80-90% of students get placed with average placement package 7-8 LPA.
