Which college would be better, IIT, Dhanbad (CS), IIT BHU (Electrical), or MNNIT Allahabad (CS)?

All three colleges, IIT Dhanbad, IIT BHU, and MNNIT Allahabad, are well-reputed and offer quality education in their respective fields. However, the choice between the three ultimately depends on your personal preferences and career goals. Here are some points to consider:

IIT Dhanbad (CS):

Pros:

One of the top-ranked engineering colleges in India.
Strong faculty with research expertise in various fields of Computer Science.
Good industry collaborations and placement opportunities.

Cons: Relatively new compared to some of the other IITs, so may not have as established an alumni network.

IIT BHU (Electrical):

Pros:

One of the oldest and most prestigious engineering colleges in India.
Strong faculty with research expertise in various fields of Electrical Engineering.
Good industry collaborations and placement opportunities.

Cons: As an Electrical Engineering program, it may not have as many opportunities to specialize in Computer Science.

MNNIT Allahabad (CS):

One of the top-ranked NITs in India.

Cons: May not have as established an alumni network compared to the older IITs.

Based on the above factors, it would be recommended to consider IIT Dhanbad (CS) as the best option among the aforementioned colleges.

In short, if you do not have any particular inclination towards the Electrical branch, then opt for the CS branch any day. This is because, if you belong to the CS branch in any reputed college in India, you have better placements and career options. Regarding the choice between IIT, Dhanbad, and MNNIT Allahabad, IIT holds an edge over the latter. There are two major reasons behind this which are explained below:

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has better placement statistics when compared to that of MNNIT. Just give you an idea, the top recruiters at IIT Dhanbad include Amazon, Flipkart, GS, Microsoft, Uber. In 2020, the max CTC package at the IIT Dhanbad CSE branch was 36 LPA. Also, the average placement package was 13.7 LPA which is higher than the average of 11.47 LPA at MNNIT Allahabad.
Lastly, IIT Dhanbad holds the bigger brand name of IIT which itself has many perks whichever industry you step in tomorrow.

All in all, it is highly recommended to choose the computer science branch over the core branches as you can grab better job opportunities and a better salary. And for better placement and campus life, IIT Dhanbad is the best choice here. However, if you are interested in the core branch, then go for Electrical at IIT BHU.
