MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (Graduated 2022)

IIM Calcutta is undoubtedly one of the most difficult colleges to gain admission to among the Holy Trinity of IIM ABC (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta). As a matter of fact, it's no surprise that passing the PI at IIM C is a difficult task.

The first step in the hiring process at IIM C is a Written Ability Test, followed by personal interviews. It lasts approximately 20 minutes. The word count is limited to 200. WAT has three Panellists.

The personal interview lasts 20-30 minutes, with 2-3 interviewers seated to take your questions. They inquire about you, your visions, and your stance on specific issues. They want to know about your abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as your points of view. Students are questioned on the most recent debatable and controversial topics or issues in order to assess their understanding of current events.

In such a situation, you should put on your best smile and keep your cool. It is critical to remain calm and composed in order to respond to the best of one's abilities.

PGDM General Management & Management Information Systems, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2019)

IIM Calcutta is one of the holy trinity of B schools in India. According to NIRF, it is the third-best management institute in the country. Admission to the MBA program in the institute is granted on the basis of the cumulative score assigned to the components given below.

  • CAT Score(30%)

  • Personal Interview(48%)

  • Written Ability Test(10%)

  • Past Academic Performance(4%)

  • Work Experience(8%)

The duration of the written ability test is 25 minutes and the word limit is 300 which is followed by the interview. The interview duration is 15-30 minutes and interviews are conducted in multiple panels. Each panel includes 10 students. There are three panelists. Usually, two are professors from IIM Calcutta and one is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta.

The main aim of the interview is to test your knowledge of basics and how you can handle stress. Students are mostly asked questions from their topic of WAT. The most efficient way to ace the interview is to have complete knowledge of what you write in the WAT. The interview may also include questions from Mathematics, Statistics, etc.
