Is IIIT Hyderabad even better than IIT, Mumbai?

For CSE, IIIT Hyderabad is better than all IITs, in terms of research, internships, packages, etc. In 2021, IIIT Hyderabad placements had witnessed the highest CTC of INR 56 LPA. The coding culture at the institute is unbeatable.

For branches other than CSE, IIT B is definitely the better choice. The institute has great facilities, extracurricular, and placements.

Yes, IIIT Hyderabad is better than IIT Bombay in terms of learning environment and academics.

However, if we look at placement offers and infrastructure, then IIT Bombay will be a good choice. Due to its brand tag, the same companies offer 1.5 times more salary at IIT B than what is offered at IIITH.

IIT Bombay has 8 different branches including Civil Engineering and Metallurgy with not-so-good placement records. On the other hand, only CSE and ECE at IIIT Hyderabad have average placements. IIT Bombay average package 2021 was recorded to be 17.91 LPA and IIIT Hyderabad witnessed the lowest package of 9 LPA

International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad was ranked 43rd whereas, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai has been ranked 3rd in the NIRF RANKING for Engineering Colleges for the year 2020.

Both the colleges offer courses like B.TECH, M.TECH and M.TECH + B.TECH (Dual Degree), M.Sc., PhD and M. Des.

IIT Bombay offers B.TECH in various streams like:-Electrical, Mechanical, Computer science, Metallurgy, and Aerospace to name a few. However, IIIT Hyderabad offers a B.Tech degree in only two courses namely: - Computer science engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).

The fees structure for various courses in both the colleges is: –

At IIIT HYDERABAD the highest package offered in the year 2019 was RS.46 LAKHS per annum. At IIT BOMBAY, the highest domestic package offered in the year 2019 was 62.28 LAKHS per annum whereas the highest international package offered was of around RS. 1.16 CRORE per annum.

The average package at IIT BOMBAY is around 20.43 LAKHS whereas the average salary at IIIT HYDERABAD is around 21 LAKHS per annum.

At IIIT HYDERABAD, out of the 289 students, 271 of them got placed whereas at IIT BOMBAY, out of the 1756 students who registered 1172 of them got placed.
