You must follow your passion and go for the stream over college. After all, your choice will either make or break your future depending on how you tackle the circumstances.

Choose IIIT Guwahati if you want CSE. If you choose metallurgy go for NIT Warangal. If you don’t know, like IIIT Kota has MNIT Jaipur, IIIT Guwahati has IIT Guwahati as its mentor institute.

The infrastructure, faculty, and placement opportunities are far better there due to the presence of already established IIIT G. This makes a lot of difference and gives an extra helping hand to IIIT-Guwahati. Being a new institute, IIIT G will not limit your options and you will also have an ample amount of opportunities coming in your way. IIITG already has great affiliations with top industry groups and even has an IT park coming up next to it.

Let’s have a brief perspective and a quick overview of all:

  • Take a quick check on the subjects you would be studying for the next 4 years and ask yourself does it really excites you to go further with the field.
  • If you are stuck in between metallurgy or computer science; ask yourself what you really want and how it will help you in further life.
  • Does it actually inspire you to work on projects related to your field of study?
  • Trust me, at the end of the day you would not like to end up taking the wrong stream.

Also, I believe that all the top colleges in the country have almost the same level of standards of teaching, placements, opportunities for further education. In short, it opens lots of doors for you in the future.

The reason which sets these colleges apart from others is how much they allow their students to get enough exposure to culture for the next 4 years and also to work under and with the guidance of the brightest minds in the country. You learn a lot more from your friends in college than your professors, irrespective of IITs or NITs.
